the Project - Venice from Above

The project “Venice from Above” (Venezia dall’alto) allows you the extraordinary and exclusive opportunity to admire Venice and her Lagoon from a unique perspective.
Giampaolo Agostinelli proves himself one of the most credited aerial photographers: he began experiencing this thrill while practicing free-fall parachuting over San Nicolò del Lido airfield. Thanks to his flights in the Venetian skies as a private pilot and his relations with the Aeronautical authorities and Police Flying Units, he developed the special photographic narrative found here, translated in a series of fascinating images.

There is always something special in seeing any landscape or city from the sky, and this is especially true for Venice. In this book you are guided to its discovery, and you are able to see places and details normally hidden on a human scale. Agostinelli, winner of several awards as an acrobatic pilot, shows a quickness of reflex indeed, which enables us to appreciate perspectives and special moments.
